Crowthorne, Berkshire - 21 January 2009: Service provider customers of fibre optic communications specialist Fibre Technologies Ltd (FTL) will benefit from the ability to rapidly execute automated service creation for managed Ethernet access, as well as the ability to undertake real-time end-to-end service level agreement (SLA) monitoring. This is as a result of a new partnership with Finnish SLA, service creation and performance management expert, Creanord.

Creanord produces the EchoVaultTM SLA EMS (element management system); a performance management and reporting solution that presents service providers with an invaluable real-time picture of activity on their networks. In addition to this per second SLA and QoS (quality of service) reporting, the EchoVault SLA EMS has the ability to perform automated RFC -2544 performance testing, providing seamless out-of service or in-service throughput, latency and packet loss measurement. This automated SLA and performance testing helps operators reduce the network downtime and improve the quality of different CoS (class of services).

The Creanord solution is deployed in conjunction with the Accedian EtherNIDTM and MetroNIDTM Ethernet demarcation devices.

"Partnering with Fibre Technologies to deliver our products in the UK is an exciting development for Creanord," says Jorma Hämäläinen, president, Creanord. "Ian Hunt and his team have a comprehensive understanding of the industry in the UK, which will help us to ensure we can achieve our desired market share in this country."

"Fibre Technologies is constantly reviewing products in the marketplace to ensure we are providing the most advanced technology to our customers," explains Ian Hunt, managing director, Fibre Technologies. "Combining the Creanord software with the Accedian Ethernet converter provides our clients with the high level of visibility crucial to maintaining the efficiency and performance of their networks."
